Someone has been restless and sleepless about me-Shehu Sani reacts to withdrawal of his automatic ticket

The senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly appears to have reacted to the reported withdrawal of his automatic ticket by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

MARIO REPORTA had reported on October 2 that the senator was given automatic ticket alongside Suleiman Abdul Kwari and Barnabas Yusuf Bala by the Kaduna state chapter of the party.

However, days after the senator was given the ticket, it now appears it has been withdrawn from the lawmaker, according to a tweet by Inside Kaduna.

Inside Kaduna tweeted: “@ShehuSani ‘s automatic ticket withdrawn as @OfficialAPCNg NWC declares that all aspirants including @ubasanius should go test their popularity with the party delegates for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District Seat Tomorrow.”

Believed to be reacting to the development in a tweet on Friday evening, the Senator said “someone of recent has been restless and sleepless” about him.

The senator tweeted: “His heart beats faster, his brain is charged, his life is disturbed;someone of recent has been restless and sleepless about Shehu Sani”.

Though the lawmaker did not mention any name, however, it is not unconnected  to the governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai, who has been at loggerheads with the senator, met President Muhammadu Buhari.

MARIO REPORTA reports that while the APC National Working Committee cleared 24 governorship candidates for the 2019 elections, the committee had yet to release the list of cleared senators for the senatorial elections next year.

This online medium reports that the crisis between the senator and Governor El-Rufai worsened in March when the Nigerian Senate rejected the state government’s request to obtain a $350 million loan from the World Bank.

Upon Sani’s resolve to remain in the APC after assurances of automatic tickets by the party headquarters for senators who refused to defect to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, his state governor said the Kaduna Central lawmaker must apologise to people of the state for playing a role in quashing the loan request before his suspension from the party would be reversed.
