Amaechi in trouble as Reps summon him over corruption allegations

Sequel to several allegations of corruption levelled against the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, the House of Representatives Committee on Land Transport has summoned him.

This was made known by the committee chairman, Abdulmumin Jibrin, to Channels Television on Thursday in Abuja..

He said that the committee had to summon Amaechi after it received a lot of allegations from credible sources against the minister.

Following the allegations, he said the House committee resolved to investigate the allegations of corruption and breach of process levelled against Amaechi.

He said it was important that Nigerians know about the things being done behind the scenes.

Amaechi, who is also President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election campaign director, was just last week booed at a town hall meeting/presidential debate in Abuja, by the audience at the event when he made efforts to reel out the achievements of the current government.
