Atiku speak to Nigerians ahead of governorship, assembly elections (WATCH VIDEO)

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 election, Atiku Abubakar, has called on the party supporters to come out en masse to vote its candidates for the governorship and state assembly elections coming up on Saturday, March 9.

Atiku made the call in a broadcast on Twitter and Facebook on Thursday morning where he also thanked the party faithful and supporters for their votes during the presidential and National Assembly elections.

He said that the party’s performance in the election signified the belief of the people in its ability to steer the country away from current drift and put it on the threshold of sustainable development and growth.

He commended the party faithful for their votes for the PDP even in the face of intimidation and harassment by the incumbent government.

Part of the broadcast said, “By your actions on Saturday, February 23, 2019, you have demonstrated to the world that democracy works, and wherever and whenever democracy works the will of the people always prevail.

“Although our national drive to make Nigeria work again has been slowed down by anti-democratic forces, our great match for the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party cannot be stopped. As we move to the governorship and state elections on March 9, 2019, however, I urge you to come out in even larger numbers to freely and peacefully vote for the governorship and House of Assembly candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party from top to bottom.”
