BREAKING: Policemen clash with soldiers at INEC office in Rivers

Nigerian soldiers and police operatives on Sunday argued over electoral matters at the head office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers state, southern Nigeria.

It was learned, according to the Cable, that the security officials were arguing over who should be in charge of the INEC office, the state collation center, where result for the governorship election will be announced.

It was later gathered that policemen took charge of security affairs at the all-important collation centre.

Mario Reporta gathered that despite the heavy military presence around the the collation centre no official of the electoral umpire was harassed.
