The government of Oyo state has declared that there was no death recorded after the collapse of a building at the Shogoye area of Ibadan on Friday. The government, according to a statement from Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogoun, said the multi-agency rescue operation team set up by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi was able to achieve the evacuation of all victims from the collapsed building.

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9 governorship election in Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, has rejected the results of the poll. The Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) had on Tuesday, March 12, declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha, as the winner, saying he polled 273,404 votes to defeat the Action Alliance (AA) candidate, Uche Nwosu, who got 190,360 votes, while Uzodimma scored 96,458 votes.

Ten persons have been killed in an attack on Nandu village in Sanga area of Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria, chairman of Sanga local government has said. Speaking in Kafanchan on Saturday, the local government boss, Charles Danladi, said that the attack occurred on Friday and 11 houses were burnt.
