Rivers 2019: APC declares support for AAC guber candidate Biokpomabo

The minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has declared his support for the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Awara Biokpomabo.

Amaechi who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and the South-south zone, urged members of the APC to massively vote Biokpomabo, a riverine man from Kula-Kalabari in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.

Amaechi gave this position on Wednesday while addressing members and supporters of his party in Eleme, Eleme LGA of Rivers state.

He added that after the AAC candidate was elected, chairmanship and councillorship elections would be conducted in the state.

He said: “This morning, the leadership of the party met and agreed that we would work with a party called African Action Congress (AAC), while we are still in court to reclaim our mandate.

“So, on Saturday (March 9), we will vote for AAC. You must go home and vote for AAC. There should be no excuse not to vote, because there will be security for everybody. You must prepare and make sure you win the governorship election.”

He said: “The moment the governorship election is won by AAC’s candidate this Saturday and the new governor is inaugurated on May 29, 2019, by June this year; there will be local government’s chairmanship and councillorship elections.

“So, you should all go out and vote and make sure that you are not rigged out.”

This is a major boost for the AAC, which is relatively new in the nation’s political scene. Its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore was unable to make an impressive mark in the just concluded presidential election as the party was not among the first five parties in position.

The APC will not be presenting candidates in the election as different courts have instructed INEC not to include the party’s candidates in the election.
